# Episode 39 of the Podcast at Delphi.org

It’s been a long while, but Jim and i finally found the time again to sit down and record a new episode of The Podcast at Delphi.org, talking about the upcoming Delphi Prism 2011 release, software development for the mac using Mono, and a lot more. It’s been great to be back on air, and we’ll hope to make this a more regular thing once again. In the mean time, i hope you’ll enjoy this episode!

See the official post for this episode at Delphi.org. Or subscribe in iTunes or via the RemObjects on Air feed.

# New Podcast Episode

The latest episode of the Podcast@Delphi.org is up, featuring once again yours truly, as well as @jamiei, @skamradt and of course @JimMcKeeth.

This time, we’re talking about a new project Jim is starting at Delphi.org, where the podcast will follow a group of developers as they create a community-driven project using Delphi tools. Fir the first project, the idea is to create a Twitter client, aimed at both being a showcase and sample code for what can be done in Delphi, but also to have some unique features that will make it usable as a real live client (and yes, we realize and actually discuss the fact that there’s already 3895 other Twitter clients out there ;).

Myself, i won’t get involved with the actual coding, at least for this project, as i have too many things on my plate already, but i’ll be participating the project podcasts to give insight and bring my expertise into shaping the project.

(On a slightly unrelated note: during the podcast i recommend the Blue Snowflake USB microphone, which can be found here).

# .NET Rocks!

That’s not only a fact, it’s also the name of a popular podcast for all things .NET, and late last year Nick Hodges and i had the chance to be on and talk to Carl and Richard about Delphi and Delphi Prism. The show, episode #409, is up now and can be found here.

Amongst other things, iirc, we talk about some future features for Prism, support for Mono and Mac OS X and, of course, a lot more.

I’ve also been playing around a bit with creating a combined/filtered feed that will provide easy access to all past and future podcasts featuring RemObjects personell. It’s not fully finalized, but you can find the work in progress here – you can subscribe to this in your RSS reader or in iTunes via the “Advanced|Subscribe to Padcast” menu. right now, this feed contains six episodes of the Podcast @ Delphi.org, and the new .NET Rocks episode.

Enjoy!

# Podcasts Galore

It’s been over a month so i was almost beginning to show withdrawal symptoms, but on Saturday, Jim McKeeth, Olaf Monien and i finally got together for a new episode of the Podcast at Delphi.org, which is available now.

With the product being official and out now, this episode fully focuses on Delphi Prism, the new .NET solution that CodeGear and RemObjects have been working on together (in case you have been living uner that rock for the past two months ;). We discuss questions readers of Jim’s blog had submitted, and take a general look of what can be done with Prism. Definitely worth checking out!

Talking about Podcasts, last night Nick Hodges and i also had a chance to record an episode of .NET Rocks with Carl Franklin and Richard Campbell, which will air on January 6th – we talked about both Delphi/Win32 and Delphi Prism, and while the conversation was a lot more high-level and more aimed at people coming from the .NET community who are not familiar with either Delphi or Prism at all, it still should be an interesting listen for existing users as well.

In both podcasts, we also take a brief look at different areas of research and features that are on the horizon for future Prism versions, both short and longer term.

Thanx for listening,
marc

# Podcast@Delphi.org Episode 8 Live

I can’t believe it’s already been two weeks again, but the next episode of the delphi.org roundtable podcast is up. Get it here at or on iTunes.

In addition to whats becoming “the regular gang” of myself, Roland Beenhakker and Jolyon Smith, we had Anders Ohlsson of CodeGear/Embarcadero join us, and we’ve chatted about a lot of interesting things, including – if i remember correctly – version control, exception handling, the MVC pattern in VCL and Cocoa and a cool new language idea for Delphi proposed by Jolyon.

I also hope my sound is a bit better this time – but there’s just not much i can do about the 3.5 meter ceiling height in my apartment ;)

Again, make sure to let us know what you think, in comments here, on Delphi.org or as feedback on iTunes.

Enjoy,
marc

# Oxygene on Delphi.org Podcast

Over the past weekend, Jim McKeeth and i sat down to talk about Oxygene and related topics for Episode 5 of Jim’s excellent Podcast at Delphi.org.

We’ve spend a good hour-and-a-half chatting about various things, from how Delphi users can best get started using Oxygene over new language features such as futures and parallel loops on to how to leverage Oxygene to get your apps to other platforms, including Linux and the Mac using Mono.

Jim did an excellent job distilling things down to 30 minutes with lots of great infos, so make sure to check out the new episode, which is online now (also on iTunes).

I had a good time and hope to be back on soon; i hope you will enjoy it, too.

Oh, and yes, i do hate hearing my voice on tape, just like everybody else ;)
