As one of the many new drivers we’re shipping in ‘Vinci, we’ve added a new driver to support SQLite, a lightweight open-source embedded database system.
This driver will work out of the box with no additional third party components needed, and we’re considering making it the default driver for all (or at least most most) future samples for DA5, as it would allow us to ship sample databases more easily, without worry about what other database systems the developer has installed.
SQLite is widely used by many commercial applications as an embedded database; for example you can point Schema Modeler to your Adobe Lightroom photo database and browse (and modify/break ;) data.
SQLite support is being provided for bot Delphi and .NET, of course.
