# “Native platform development is going to be the approach”

Mark Zuckerberg about the new native Facbeook app (via [Appleinsider](http://appleinsider.com/articles/12/09/11/facebook%5Fadmits%5Fhtml5%5Fnot%5Fcompetitive%5Fwith%5Fcocoa%5Ftouch?ref=blogs.remobjects.com), [The Verge](http://www.theverge.com/2012/9/11/3317230/mark-zuckerberg-betting-on-html5-for-mobile-was-a-mistake-hints-at?ref=blogs.remobjects.com)):

“Native \[platform development\] is going to be the approach that we go with for iOS and Android”. “We’re betting completely on it.”

Smart thinking, and much in line with our own [philosophy](http://remobjects.com/native?ref=blogs.remobjects.com) on the matter.

He goes on:

“The biggest mistake we made as a company was betting too much on HTML5 instead of native \[platforms\],” and, “We burnt two years.”
